FEDERAL GOVT APPROVES KIMBERLEY REOPENING
Media Releases
Durack MP Melissa Price has confirmed the Federal Government has approved the request to reopen the Kimberley on Friday 5th June.
She says Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt has signed off on the request to lift the bio-security laws that were used to lock down the region in March.
It means people from within WA will be able to travel to the Kimberley from midnight Thursday.
It's not just the Kimberley affected - the inland desert areas will also be opened up, although Aboriginal communities remain off-limits.
